The Tahitian wave Teahupo'o is a big beautiful glassy monster that was first ridden in 1986 (if memory serves). This is a lovely vid in hi-def gorgeous slow motion. Difficult to realise that lives were very much at risk in this mesmerising film.

Joining in the protest: Mozilla, WordPress, Wikipedia, Reddit, Twitter, Boing Boing, Minecraft, the entire Cheezeburger Network (!!!), and lots more.
